VENUE: Hotspurs Stadium, Tottenham - fourth away match of seven fixtures to date. Contest played behind closed doors as per current covid precautions.
BUILD UP: thoughts of fans returning to stadiums disappeared with renewed lockdown enforcements.
Meanwhile BHA supporters who had written to MPs were perhaps more concerned with being perpetually stuck in the bottom six, with no way out anytime soon.
WEATHER: mild but wet evening.

GRAHAM POTTER was taking positives from a new reality, which is creditable in present circumstances. However old habits from cause & effect still permeated what has been happening for negative outcomes thus far.
In the event Sanchez made his debut in goal and Zeqiri & Propper were among substitutes. Maupay, Connolly and Steele were missing altogether.

SYNOPSIS: conceding yet again from another set piece, in this case a fourth penalty in seven contests, put Albion on the back foot from word go. Visitors response was laudable, although lacked serious threats bar what was carried functionally to very edge of the box.
It seemed like history repeating; chasing the game, trying too hard to equalise from holding possession but failing to penetrate opposition.
During the second period, travellers got back on terms after the hour mark. But amidst timely changes by both elevens, locals net another soft goal, restoring the lead.
So visitors trailed again and fail in the end against a big six opponent, who did not have to deliver a classic performance, merely individual quality and head-to-head nous to gain victory.
On the night it was a case of more work in progress.

NUMBERS: poss 44%-56%, on target 3-2, off target 6-4, corners 4-5, fouls 14-13, yellows 2-1, subs 3-3.
