BEFORE KICKOFF: it was a midweek evening in March when we finally hosted regional rivals at the community stadium.
There were a couple of other postponed fixture dates still to be advised but bizarrely the rest of this month was a no-Prem zone for Albion due to another international break.

ROBERTO de ZERBI had eyes on the immediate future and also the forthcoming campaign based on what transpired this term.
He realised Albion are a wafer-thin squad that will require bolstering with pukka talent to maintain progress.
RdZ eased Webster & Ferguson to the bench, re-introducing Colwill & Welbeck to start.

FIRST HALF: hosts took the lead against run of play, which changed nature of this unusual if habitually far from local contest directly, tactically, performance-wise and otherwise.
SECOND HALF: a short power cut on turnaround was an irritating interruption and a technical blip in proceedings.
Hosts huffed & puffed afterwards, while travellers stayed in the game and it all became a bit of a physical scrap.
IN THE END: lady luck decided to point fickle finger of fate to favour one side in a single goal affair so that parity could not be shared.
