FIRST HALF: a scrappy and feisty first forty-five minutes saw play acting from locals amid intervals of good football from visitors.
The home win at all costs mentality pervaded an even contest for possession but where travellers seriously led on goal attempts.
SECOND HALF: Potter inserted Welbeck up front immediately.
Physical nature of this clash continued with Seagulls competing against combative Hotspur.
Substitutions played their part as the team expended energy to maintain momentum of a game-plan which was working well.
It proved an exemplary display that prevented previously free-scoring hosts from causing any havoc in visitors third.
