GRAHAM POTTER put new signing Enock Mwepu into the starting eleven. Otherwise it was a similar team-sheet to last term, with addition of Duffy (returned from north of the border) selected in lieu of transferred White.

1-1 - 73 . a fast counter from back to front with March & Moder involved saw MAUPAY net close home.
1-2 - 78 . in a quick forward move an assist by Gross was put away by MAC ALLISTER.

FIRST HALF: going behind so very early was more than merely disappointing. Seagulls reaction was timid in circumstances of facing a hostile crowd.
And an awkward looking shape from visitors get-go did not see much decisive nor productive football.
Attacking intent remained in minds rather than enacted on pitch. What moves did develop were just not up to this level.

SECOND HALF: Lallana came on at turnaround and others re-balanced a fluid formation. However that familiar tale of flattering to deceive pertained during forward motion.
Potter then next withdrew a midfielder and the replacement immediately supplied the equaliser. The second super-sub moments later duly scored straight away to provide a previously unlikely lead.
In the event superior Seagulls possession justified a hard fought narrow victory.
