ST JAMES' PARK

A strange looking place with seats on various levels surrounding the pitch. Big stands on north and east sides but smaller ones opposite. 52k capacity and away fans were stuck in upper levels on the NE (Leazes) corner. The stands are fully enclosed so atmosphere is ok pet.

Road; A1(M) to A1 and A184 toward city. A189 then over Tyne on bridge, seeing ground ahead.
Straight on St James Boulevard to Gallowgate area. Pay and display car parks.
Rail; Trains to Central Station. Metro service to stop at stad. Short walk to ground or bus from Berwick Street.
Airport also has connection via Metro transit system.

19/10/24 - no fog on the Tyne this time around . Gate 52,220
11/5/24 - a year since we visited but better for travelling support this time around . Gate 51,997, away 1982.
18/5/23 - easily forgettable in the circumstances.
5/3/22 - long way to go for nowt . Gate 52,214, away 1707.
20/9/20 - Covid pandemic so no fans, game played behind closed doors.
21/9/19 - Brighton fans stuck up in the gods in a crowd of 43k but they did make some noise . Gate; 43,360, away 1233.

Covid restrictions:
relaxed 26/1/22 - no covid pass or negative test (15/12/21) . none @ 19/7/21.
(17/5/21 = 10k home fans . lockdown 3 @ 6/1/21 = 0 fans . Post lockdown 2: Tier 3 @ 27/11/20 = 0 fans).
