10 things you didn't think you'd know about -
Yeovil
1 Yeovil is on the Somerset and Dorset border but right on the left side, as far as Bournemouth is concerned - left on the right side from Yeovil's position.
2 The place was burned down in 1499, 1623 and suspiciously in 1640. Some Somerset Rugby playing types wanted to fire old Huish, when Yeovil Casuals merged with Petters United and phoenix-like, became a Town again.
3 Babylon Hill was the location of a Civil War clash and so set the late 20th century scene, for FA Cup giant killing on another famous slope.
4 The Luftwaffe bombed it to bits in WW2. Why should anyone want to blast a few glove factories? Shell-shocked defending Yeomen held their hands up in disbelief.
5 A four hundred year old house at Brymton d'Evera had the areas 'longest' straight stairway. Then single tiered stands at new Huish Park were erected in 1990, to step up on that claim.
6 Prior to instigation of the Conference, Town went up and down in the Alliance Premier League. That was actually the closest they got to the inaugural Premiership lift off of 1992.
7 Helicopters were made at nearby Westland Aircraft, which went hand in hand with Glovers' vertical ascent from Conference to League 1.
8 A sixties London pop song chorus 'Glad All Over', loudly goes 'on-air' when the Zummerzet outfit score. Look, you didn't think we'd know about why exactly, or care either!
9 If that noisy drummer and trumpeter pairing are opposite in the home south stand, which bizarrely is called Westland Terrace, just hope for a noteworthy northerly gale from behind open Copse Road away end.
10 Yes, green and white hoops seem to fit the country yokel image ok!
