10 things you didn't think you'd know about -
Cardiff
1 Some people actually remembered Cardiff for its docks and as a big coal port. Think about it because they're Welsh by berth and just burn to know they are.
2 There is also an aged castle by a river. Old in the sense of a Gothic reconstruction plus pollution - a bit like City's ancient ground.
3 We've all hung about outside Arms Park at night. Local Taff street girls were usually up the wall.
4 Toshack - national and local hero. Yorath - losing b*st*rd but fathered Gabby, so interesting alternative blood line anyway.
5 For a Wales versus England clash in '61 there was er, 61 thousand inside Ninian Park. A gate of 16 hundred turned up vs Aldershot in ... no,'91 when almost all other things were actually in reverse.
6 A 300K+ population in a European capital and the Prem is only an English dream........ can it ever come true?
7 They once won the FA Cup. Cardiff merely hosted it until Wembley of a new Millennnium was opened.
8 In decades past Bluebirds played Madrid, Hamburg and Lisbon. That makes 'em International flyers.
9 They have nearly felt at home in a play-off final.
10 Caerdydd and HTV - an ancient experience in any language.
