memorable match: Season3 (H) - end of the season under Oscar Garcia and into p-os next.
Season3 (H) Championship 25/4/14 - 2-0 ~ LuaLua, Lingard.
This was Seagulls last home match of the campaign and Amex form had been a tad mixed this term. Town, in their first Championship season, looked doomed at foot of the table. They needed to do the math to win big time, while Albion did too to keep in a p-o place. It was a Friday night in front of TV cameras and at least fans could have the weekend off for once. The run-in had been fast & furious with six April fixtures played already, prior to an encounter at Forest in May. Oscar Garcia was rotating his squad, especially with players subject to injury, like Buckley. On the night he had no problem selecting from eighteen fit and able to do the do.
*** match report: At halftime away fans were happy that their outfit done good and it was still nil-nil. On stats Albion were out of sight but it was same old when it came to finishing. During the second period as time ticked past the hour, Garcia replaced injury-prone Orlandi with March. Ten minutes later with fans calling for LuaLua, he put the winger on for injury-prone Buckley. Then Stephens got crocked and JFC got an app. Very soon LuaLua crossed and it went all the way thru to inside the far post (78min). Everybody in B&W colours were a tad happier and hopes of better goal difference came to mind. Right at the death (Town were now officially down) Lingard got an extra goal (90+). Oscar was pleased which was fine because he got quite demonstrative on the touchline during play and Nathan Jones was doing his brains thoughout too. Play-offs here we come - if we could beat Forest away in the last match?
Kuszczak, Bruno, Greer, Dunk, Ward, Stephens (Forster-Caskey), Andrews, Orlandi (March), Buckley (LuaLua), Ulloa, Lingard.

memorable match: Season3 (A) - Seagulls only visit to Huish during the Falmer years in the C'ship.
Season3 (A) Championship 19/10/13 - 0-0.
This fixture marked the end of the first quarter of our third Championship season and to date BHA were pretty mediocre as an outfit hoping to challenge for play-off places. In typical Albion fashion a couple of Amex games previously had been thrown away when ahead or dominating (Forest & Wednesday) and basically away from home, we were unable to net (Ipswich, Reading, QPR). Oscar Garcia had problems with an injury ravaged squad, although you couldn't blame front men for failure all the time. A few goals are usually expected from support at set-pieces etc but so far, nix. Crofts had got a couple, meanwhile others like Barnes, Buckley and Bruno were capable of contributing more. Btw, Seagulls coach Nathan Jones got a warm welcome back at the club where he spent a few years as assistant, after leaving BHA as a player in the noughties.
*** match report: The match was a total disappointment for many Brighton fans on the open terrace at Huish Park. Town were there to be taken and Albion blew it by not taking chances as they arrived. In terms of match stats; visitors had 63% possession, 10 shots off target, 4 blocked but merely 2 on targets. We were also 5 times o/s, although had 5 corners. At halftime Oscar Garcia subbed Ince for David in order to push forward looking for goals. During the second period (60min) new loan-signing Leroy Lita got on for Barnes and shortly afterwards took a chance to open his account. But to no avail and later OG introduced Forster-Caskey and switched to 442. Both Buckley and Lita were put thru with chances very late in the game but failed to notch. Nathan Jones said, 'we create chances but we've got strikers out injured. We're missing that goalscorer to win us games.' You can certainly say that again.
Kuszczak, Bruno, Greer, Upson, Ward, Ince (David), Andrews, Crofts, Buckley, Barnes (Lita), Conway (Forster-Caskey).
